Welcome! I am very excited to start a new school year with you
and your child. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about
myself and also highlight some areas you may have questions about as we begin
I am a graduate of Omaha North High School and the University
of Concordia. I have a degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in
Early Childhood Education. I have been a para with Omaha Public Schools for
seven years prior to becoming a teacher.
My husband’s name is Matt and we have three children. My son, Owen, is 7 and a 1st grader at Skinner,my daughter, Opal, is 4 and is a Pre-K student at Skinner and my daughter, Mabel, is a busy 2 year old!
This is my 4th year teaching , my first in Kindergarten. I am ready and
excited! These are my beliefs that will help you understand my philosophy. 1. I believe all children can learn and
deserve every opportunity to learn and grow. 2. Students can learn best when they are provided with engaging,
hands on learning activities. 3.
Students learn best when they are in a nurturing, organized and peaceful
environment. 4. Learning does not
take place just at school, but should be encouraged and supported at home as
well. 5. All students learn
different, are on different levels and as individuals, their needs should be
met individually. 6. Children need
to have natural consequences when they have made a poor choice and it should
always be used as a learning experience. 7.
A classroom should be full of praise, encouragement and routines. These are a
few things I feel strongly about and will always be a part of my teaching
I am looking forward to the school year and I promise to
make this a fun and educational year for your child. If you need anything at all, or have any
questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at my e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. You may
also send a note or call me through our school phone number (402) 453-6857.
